08:00: Get ready to be picked up at the meeting point at the Hanoi Old Quarters area. Head out towards Viet Tri and Tuyen Quang, driving through the beautiful Red River Delta. Arrive in Tuyen Quang, a town famous for its lush green tea plantations. We’ll stop here for lunch and try some delicious local cuisine at one of the many excellent eateries in the area.
Afternoon and Evening
Continue our journey towards Ha Giang, where we’ll spend the night in an authentic Thai house on stilts. Enjoy a home-cooked meal prepared by the local family. Relax after a long journey and take in the peaceful surroundings of this charming village.

Day 2: Ha Giang – Dong Van
Morning
You can wake up early to catch the sunrise over the majestic mountains. Have breakfast to fuel up for the day’s adventures. Meet your tour guide and buy a permit to visit the specific locations in Ha Giang. Start your journey through the winding roads, taking in the stunning passes, rolling mountains, and lush valleys. Take a lunch break in Tam Son, a charming mountain town.
Afternoon and Evening
Explore the Vuong Palace, a grand mansion that once belonged to the powerful Hmong Vuong family. The palace has a unique architecture and is filled with fascinating historical artifacts.
Continue the trip and arrive in Dong Van at around 18:00. Have dinner at a local restaurant, and try some of the region’s famous delicacies.

Have breakfast at your hotel in Ha Giang. If there is Sunday, we highly recommend visiting the local market. Here, you’ll get to witness the vibrant and colorful traditional ethnic clothes worn by the local ethnic groups. It’s a truly unique and authentic experience!
After that, we’ll take you to Pu Lo, a French fortress built in 1890. The climb up it’s definitely worth it for the panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Next up, get ready for an unforgettable experience as we drive through the Ma Pi Leng Pass, the 20 km-long mountain pass located at an altitude of 1200m, which is one of the four most challenging passes in Vietnam, with many winding curves. You’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and terraced fields. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
Head to Meo Vac Valley for a delicious lunch. This is the perfect opportunity to try some of the local specialties and immerse yourself in the local culture.
Afternoon and Evening
Make our way back to Ha Giang. Stay overnight in your hotel Ha Giang.
